Richmor Connection Band Artwork

2025

Retro-inspired album artwork and a digital home for a band releasing a trilogy of EPs.

About: Richmor Connection is a long-form music project exploring time, memory, and uncertainty - drawing on retro graphic language while still working naturally in a modern digital context.

Responsibilities: As the designer, I was responsible for defining the visual direction of the project across both physical-style assets and digital touchpoints. This included creating high-quality retro-inspired cover art for three EPs, and designing and building a website that presents the music, themes, and written content in a clear and engaging way.

Design Philosophy: The aim was to create a visual identity that felt considered, warm, and enduring - something closer to printed artefacts and analogue references than fast-moving digital trends. The design needed to support reflection and storytelling, allowing the music, lyrics, and commentary to breathe rather than compete for attention.

Applied Methods: I developed a cohesive visual system spanning colour, typography, composition, and texture, ensuring consistency across the three EP covers while allowing each release to feel distinct. For the website, I focused on clarity, pacing, and hierarchy, translating the visual language of the artwork into a readable, accessible digital experience.

Challenges: A key challenge was balancing nostalgia with restraint - creating a retro aesthetic that felt intentional rather than pastiche. Another was integrating a large amount of written content (lyrics, reflections, background material) into the website without overwhelming the visitor or diluting the visual identity.

Outcomes: The resulting work presents Richmor Connection as a cohesive, thoughtfully framed project, uniting music, imagery, and narrative. The artwork gives the releases a strong visual presence, while the website provides a calm, structured entry point for listeners to explore the project in more depth.

Framing music through artwork and space is about giving time, memory, and sound a place to live - not just something to listen to.
